Darby Bayliss
Agent/Broker

Darby A. Bayliss combines ardent enthusiasm for historic preservation and neighborhood advocacy with a focus on family – along with a strong professional background – when she works for her real estate clients.

Darby graduated from Smith College with an A.B. degree in 1980 and from the University of Michigan Law School with a J.D. in 1984. She practiced law in New York City for five years and then moved to Los Angeles in 1989 and practiced law for a year. In 1991, she married Eric Bronson and took a three-year honeymoon backpacking around the world. When they returned she continued practicing law until her first child, Brenna, was born in 1996. Soon after, Darby and Eric moved to Historic West Adams. They had two more children, Maeve, born in 1998 and Eamon, born in 2002.

The family lives in a 1905 Craftsman/Transitional home in the Harvard Heights neighborhood of West Adams. Darby plunged into community affairs. She was the treasurer for the Harvard Heights Neighborhood Association for two years. Darby has been instrumental in applying for and implementing numerous improvement grants in the neighborhood. She also worked hard to help the neighborhood to successfully gain Historic Preservation Overlay Zone status. In addition, Darby and Eric have been involved in the renovation and preservation of six homes in the Harvard Heights area.

She has also been, for five years, on the governing Council at her children’s school, Pacifica Community Charter School (also attended by other West Adams children).

Darby became a Real Estate Broker in 2005, and joined City Living Realty.
